Sigg Prize 2019 exhibition

Sigg Prize is a biennial award that recognizes outstanding practices of artists born or working in the Greater China region and promotes them on an international scale.

The exhibition presents work by the six artists shortlisted for the prize: Hu Xiaoyuan (Beijing), Liang Shuo (Beijing), Lin Yilin (New York), Shen Xin (Minneapolis and Amsterdam), Tao Hui (Beijing), and Samson Young (Hong Kong). They encompass different generations and geographies and work across a range of mediums, including sculpture, site-specific installation, video, and performance. Their practices articulate clear perspectives on topics that defy easy categorisation, and the work featured in this exhibition addresses issues that resonate across contexts.
